In 2008 I lost my job. I then bought an RV and went on a three year road trip that took me to all of the lower 48 states, to 5 provinces in Canada, and I spent 3 months in the winter in Mexico. I then returned home for my 50th birthday in June 2011. This blog is a record of this amazing road adventure and I hope you enjoy every mile of my trip. See my previous blog at bellaandtheroad.blogspot.com and any questions or comments, please email me at HerTinkerbell(at)yahoo(dot)com
You do a great job of digging out some of the obscure things along the open road. We visited Johnson City and completely missed the sculpture ranch.
ReplyDeleteAre you still visiting the Triple D restaurants as you travel?
Mark & Sharon
As you already know, I love obscure :-)
ReplyDeleteI gave up on the Triple-D places after trying several and not liking the food.
I did go to The Cove in San Antonio because it's also a laundromat and I needed to do laundry LOL
The Benini Foundation Sculpture Ranch and Galleries has been one of the best treasures of my 2 months of travel and pet/house sitting in Texas. I found the info in a great little place to get a juice or smoothie (2-6pm) in Fredericksburg, the Juicerie. A great 1st stop after climbing Enchanted Rock. And next door to Kelly's. You'll want to be sure to visit Kelly's for dinner. Is a "not to miss" on my list for some very nicely prepared, delicious food, and at reasonable prices I think.
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks, I'll have to go back now!
