In 2008 I lost my job. I then bought an RV and went on a three year road trip that took me to all of the lower 48 states, to 5 provinces in Canada, and I spent 3 months in the winter in Mexico. I then returned home for my 50th birthday in June 2011. This blog is a record of this amazing road adventure and I hope you enjoy every mile of my trip. I'm trying to decide if I want to go to Savannah or Sea World at San Antonio... I'm in Little Rock. I loved your posts from Austin and want to go back there. I've spent more time in Texas and have only been through Savannah but always wanted to go back.
Also, do you find that constant traveling as opposed to staying in one spot for a while is more rewarding? I really love just constant going... then I get tired and want a 'home' .. get one ... then go crazy ... and so on... sigh ;)
the only reason I 'need' to pick is I want something special for Christmas. I have to do the license stuff in February for my van which is Texas ... I'm still fighting the ...want a permanent place but travel all the time... mindset. I drive myself nutz... lol
That drive from south Texas east is something I really don't care to do again. I've done that several times. So... if I go to South Texas ... I will stay until the legal stuff is done on my van ... then I can go east... BUT ... I really would like to see Savannah and that area for the holidays... their website just looks gorgeous but then south Texas is pretty too... oh sigh oh sigh... think I'll just get in my van and flip a freakin coin... ;)
I see you have gone all around Arkansas... no interest? beautiful little state... ;)
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't planned, it's just the way it happened. I do hope to visit Arkansas as soon as I can, but that might be a while.
ReplyDeleteMaybe next trip can be I-40 (California to North Carolina). :)

attention span of a gnat!
Willie,
ReplyDeleteCalifornia to North Carolina? Is that where you're going?
Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWhy not go to both? Do you have to pick?
I do like the constant traveling but from time to time, I do need to slow down and stay in a place for a couple of days. Then I'm good to go again.

I see ... it is complicated ...
ReplyDeleteYou could always do San Antonio this year and Savannah next year, that way you can have your cake and eat it too!
